PADI Rescue Diver Course

Rescue Diver

The PADI Rescue Diver Course is considered by most divers to be the most worthwhile course they've taken. It's a must for all concerned divers who want to improve their skills and experience and consider the safety of other divers. This course is challenging though incredibly rewarding. You will improve your awareness and diving skills both underwater and at the surface and the training excercises will prepare you to prevent problems and, if necessary, to manage diving emergencies.

You will learn about self rescue, identifying and managing diving stress, how to respond to a panicked diver, managing an emergency and specific equipment, in-water rescue breathing, search patterns and how to exit the water while supporting a diver. You will practice several simulated dive accident scenarios from rescuing an unconscious diver on the bottom to a panicked diver on the surface.

To do the PADI Rescue Diver course, you must

  • be a PADI Advanced Diver or Junior Advanced Diver (or equivolent from another organisation)
  • have completed the PADI ERF course (or equivolent form another organisation)
